Sharonda McPhee was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL. As a young child, Sharonda was always interested in writing. She always had a pen in her hand and paper by her side. First, Sharonda started off writing poetry. Every day after school in 1st grade, Sharonda can recall coming home and pulling out her notebook set aside for her poetry.
For a while, poetry was her thing. But it just didn’t seem to satisfy her enough. She wanted to write something that was much longer than poetry and went more in-dept than poetry. Soon Sharonda found herself writing short stories and from there grew a wonderful and talented author.
Ever since Sharonda decided to be a children’s author, she always wondered how she’d ever break into print and be what she was dreaming of being….a published author. And then she found the The Institute of Children’s Literature. She first enrolled at 15 years of age. On completing their Basic Writing Course and their Advanced Magazine Writing Course, Sharonda McPhee has completed 18 assignments altogether where 5 out of her 7 manuscripts, that were suitable for submission to editors, have been sold to various magazines.
Sharonda’s long term dreams are to become a book author. She enjoys writing short stories but longer stories are her goal. After she finishes college, Sharonda is looking forward to beginning the Institute Of Children’s Literature’s Advance Book Writing Course and beginning her career as a book writer. Sharonda is currently 21 years old.
In addition to writing, Sharonda also has a soft spot for animals. You may notice that most of Sharonda’s articles have the topic of animals. Sharonda is an animal lover! Becoming a Veterinarian is not a passion of hers, but animals have a secure spot in her heart for sure. She’s currently a sophomore at her local college, Indian River State College. After she completes her Associates of Arts degree, Sharonda is eager to begin her studies in Human Services. Her heart goes out to others and wants to help others live a better life and encourage other in any way possible. As a long-term goal, Sharonda would like to become a full-time missionary in South America after finishing her studies.
Sharonda’s hobbies include bowling, writing, reading, and working with animals.
Sharonda has a primary goal she’d like to accomplish through being a children’s author. In being a children’s author, Sharonda would like to encourage other children to become active readers. Reading is very important for children and through her stories and articles, Sharonda would love to make children excited to read.
While most of Sharonda's stories and articles are published online, she does have a few of her manuscripts that are not published online and are posted on this website for your convenience and reading pleasure. Under the "Interests" section is where those stories are located. Sharonda's short story for teenagers, "A Prom Story," is published in an anthology called, 'Something from the Attic,' which is available on Amazon.com. Her other short story for teens is accepted for publication in 'Teen Voices,' a magazine for teen girls.
Sharonda cannot all take the credit for any of the published works she has created. Sharonda gives God all the praise, honor and glory because He has made it possible for her to get published and He gave her the talent she contains. Sharonda’s motto: "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!!!" (Philippians 4:13)
